Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–9 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (704) 343-0148. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. This was my first time at Mama Ricotta’s. The atmosphere was nice, and the food was delicious from start to finish. The starter bread was so good! For an appetizer, we ordered the Mozzarella & Tomato, and pairing it with the bread was absolutely fire. For my main dish, I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs. Now, when they say meatballs, they mean MEATBALLS! These things were the size of tennis balls! My only complaint was that the portion wasn’t evenly balanced. I like my plate to have a good ratio between the pasta and meatballs. But that’s just me. For dessert, I had the tiramisu, and once again, the portion was huge. Honestly, that dessert could have fed all three of us! Besides my oversized meatballs, everything was delicious. This place definitely gives you generous portions. I would definitely recommend Mama Ricotta’s and would come back again.

We were in town for my boyfriend’s birthday and were recommended this restaurant and it did not disappoint!! We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals! I had the Italian berry fizz drink which was perfectly sweet. We started with the short rib arancini and the classic pizza and were so satisfied. The bread service with the hot oil was also delicious. For the mains we got the penne vodka with a chicken cutlet and the chicken parm and were so happy with the entire meal. The wait staff was so attentive and the manager stopped by as well to check on us. They even gave us a cannoli for the birthday. We just had a great time. The food was delicious and the service was phenomenal.

Food is Great - Service is below average. We quickly bypassed at the people waiting because we had a reservation. Our server finally arrived, 6 minutes later. I ordered a glass of wine and that arrived 11 minutes later. I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana. The chicken was a very generous portion with a large plate of pasta on the side. The chicken was tender and the sauce was tasty. My wife ordered the Pollo Carciofi. Her dish was well presented and delicious. I like butter on my bread, and that took some time to get. We were thinking about splitting a dessert, but when he dropped the check, we changed our minds. The parking is tight.

I’ve been for both lunch and dinner. I really enjoyed the atmosphere during lunch, especially in the sun room. The dinner setting is more intimate and fairly dimly lit. It’s very nice if you are seated at a booth. The workers are so kind! You’ll leave full, satisfied, and likely with leftovers. I devoured the complimentary bread! The crispy focaccia is wonderfully seasoned. The rolls are nice, soft, warm. We enjoyed trying a variety of their dishes. I recommend the penne alla vodka! Definitely add the chicken parm cutlet. The tiramisu is delightful.

Made reservations which is the way to go if you can plan ahead, it can get pretty busy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We ordered the tomato with mozzarella, and basil. They make their mozzarella cheese fresh and you can certainly taste the difference. They bring out fresh bread some oil for dipping. I ordered the Penne ala vodka and added the chicken parm to it. The dish had great flavor and was very delicious with large portions. I was only able to eat half. The lasagna was great! The sauce they use is so mild but has depth of flavor. Overall we were very satisfied and know why this is a highly ranked restaurant! It is a great place to come get amazing Italian food! Lastly the desserts looked amazing but there was no room for any since I was to full.
